Electrical Engineer

Need to demonstrate ability to work well in a fast-paced technical environment, have great written and oral communication skills, and be able to demonstrate knowledge of electrical power systems.

The substation engineering team works on variety of projects including complete substation design, relay replacements, and substation upgrades. Current projects include a design of a wind farm interconnection substation, SER/SCADA D.20 replacements, transfer trip upgrades, and line relay protection replacements.

The desired experience level is 1-5 years (A recent college graduate will be considered if they can demonstrate adequate knowledge of electrical power systems.). An EIT certificate is preferred. The position requires the ability to read and modify one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, trip and close schematics, and rack wiring diagrams. Experience with substation design including relay protections and control, outdoor substation layout, control house building specification, and grounding analysis and design is a plus. The successful candidate will need proficiency with the current Microsoft Office suite and a working knowledge on how to use CAD programs such as AutoCad and MicroStation.

Traction Power Systems Engineer

Primary duties include design of AC/DC traction power substations and distribution systems for commuter rail, heavy rail, light rail, and streetcar projects.

Responsibilities will include preparing single line diagrams, metering and relaying schematics, substation equipment layouts, conduit and cable plans, ground mats, power and lighting design. Responsibilities also include conducting load flow studies and short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, grounding design, relay coordination studies, and arc flash hazard analysis.

BS/MS in Electrical Engineering is required. Strong analytical skills are desirable. Professional licensed engineers are preferred. 10+ years experience in traction power substation design is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with other design team members are necessary.

Senior Substation Project Manager/Engineer

Primary duties include project management and design of high voltage substations up to 500kV.

Responsibilities include developing substation single-line, physical layout, grounding, AC & DC control schematics, control house layout, relay & control panel layout & wirings, SCADA interface, and preparation of bill of material & construction cost estimates.

BS/MS in Electrical Engineering is required. Strong analytical skills are desirable. Professional licensed engineers are preferred. 10+ years experience in high voltage substation design is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with other design team members are necessary.
