Eagle P3 Commuter Rail Electrification

  • The Eagle P3 Project, which consists of approximately 36 miles of Commuter Rail, includes the East Rail Line connecting downtown Denver Union Station (DUS) with the Denver International Airport (DIA), Gold Line from Pecos Station to Ward Station and Northwest Rail Line from DUS to South Westminster Station including the Commuter Rail Maintenance Facility (CRMF) to service, maintain and repair EMU vehicles.
  • As a subconsultant to Denver Transit Partners’ Fluor/HDR Global Design Consultant team, Elcon is responsible for performing OCS structural design calculations, reviewing and coordinating OCS detailed design performed by others, coordinating and integrating traction electrification system, structural poles, supports and communication loadings for OCS pole foundations and being the engineer-of-record for final 25kV OCS design. Elcon’s scope includes finalizing OCS master-overlap charts and OCS distribution layouts for the mainline, crossovers, turn-outs, yard and CRMF locations. Elcon is also responsible for performing OCS pantograph security analysis and developing technical specifications.
