Sound Transit North Link Extension

• This project is a 4.3 mile extension of Link light rail from the University of Washington station to Northgate, including stations at the University District–Brooklyn, Roosevelt and Northgate. Other elements of the project include light rail in a mix of tunnels, three stations sized to accommodate 4-car trains, two traction power substations, and a Central Link maintenance base expansion.
• As a member of the Jacobs Associates design team, Elcon is responsible for power distribution, fire alarm, security access control and intrusion detection systems for the tunnel and three passenger stations. Scope also includes design of the emergency power and critical back-up systems. Elcon is also responsible for systems integration and coordination with the systems consultant to provide power connections for the system components such as train control and communication equipment.
