The I-205 Light Rail extension extends south along the I-205 corridor from approximately 1600LF south of Tri-Met’s existing Gateway Transit Center, 6.7 miles to the Clackamas Town Center. It includes eight stations and five parking facilities.
As a member of the Design-Build team, ELCON is responsible for the complete design oversight and testing of all system elements including train controls, communications and traction electrification. In addition, ELCON is designing the installation of traction substations and OCS systems. The design will include six 1.0 MW substations, 12.5kV feed from Portland General Electric, dc feeder cable installation, substation grounding, dc power distribution at special trackwork locations, SCADA interface, OCS pole and pole foundation design. We are also responsible for review of the vendor’s shop drawings for all systems components, systems integrated testing and supporting the design/build team with commissioning of the light rail system.
